Acclaim Entertainment did a great job making this great, but also unique game. This game is unique because there aren't usual cars you've to control, but this time you've to control remote control cars which is a great idea and nice concept. It has a wide range of cars, tracks, power-ups and other goodies which makes this game lots of fun and not boring at all.

The graphics:
good to very good for its year. The weapons you can use are very realistic, especially the explosions look very cool. When you shoot a fire arrow, you'll see realistic fire and your opponent's car will fly in the air which is funny to see. When you start the game, you'll enter an unique kind of menu based on some kind of story, like in movies such as Toy Story. Totally this game offers 33 cars (28 normal and 5 secret cars) with loads of details and every car is unique in handling, acceleration and top speed. When you get bored you can even download new ones if you like! The scenery of the tracks are also something special; loads of colors and Acclaim made it almost look real. From the Ghost Town to a toy shop, the tracks are looking great and very unique and that's one of the special powers of this great classic. The general impression of the graphics is just great and I can't name many points to improve it.

There are a total of six racing modes which are listed here. Completing game modes allows you to unlock tracks and cars so you can choose between more than the basic eight rookie cars and some tracks.

First of all we've the 'Single Race':
The concept is simple just race against the computer. You can only race on the tracks that you've unlocked in other game modes. If you finish first in all the races you'll unlock more cars, so the single race is not a usual as in most other racing games because this time you're even able to unlock cars which is a good thing.

Championship:
In this mode you can win four cups: Bronze, Silver, Gold and the Special cup. Every cup has four or five tracks and you have to finish 3rd or better to continue to the next race. The better you finish the more points you'll get. The player with the most points after four or five tracks will win the championship. If you completed a cup, you'll get the cup of course and a few races will be unlocked.

Time Trial:
Nothing special here. You have to beat the normal, mirror and reverse modes to complete this one in a certain time. Some races are very hard but also this time you'll be rewarded with some extra stuff like cars and tracks.

Practice Mode:
In this mode you can improve your driving skills. There are also certain stars around the tracks and when you pick them all up, there will be more unlocked like in any other mode I listed above.

And last but not least the Stunt Area:
Here you can stunt around in certain number of levels and with your stunt skills you'll have to pick up stars, it's very challenging and fun.

The gameplay is also something special. The fast cars have a bad handling and the slow cars have good handling but in my eyes this is very logical. There are also great power-ups during the race which will make your car faster or give it the opportunity to shoot energy balls which will create a nice effect and they also look really cool. The PROS of the gameplay is just too much to list here but promise me the gameplay is great.

On the whole Re-Volt is one of my personal favorites. There are loads of tracks, including mirror and reverse ones; and you'll have to beat a challenge to unlock more cars and tracks which is pretty cool in my eyes and will also keep you busy for a long time. I really like the 'Re-Volt' model car idea which is very good and even these still unique, we've seen this before in games like in the Micro Machines series but this one is ten times better. You can drive from jungles to museums which will be very entertaining. This is a classic of difference and want to suggest you to give it a shot because it's just great!

I got it last night! Took 2 hours, but got it. =} And I have to say Acclaim really outdid themselves on this awesome game! I'm getting the N64 version soon so I can play multiplayer with my siblings. Anyway, Re-Volt = Awesomeness. =D
