Most of us will remember what kind of games GT Interactive made until Atari took over control. All games released or published by GT are overall a great success and very popular too. With Blood Plasma Pack, the story didn't end, it was just the same, another successful addon for a great game called 'Blood'. The big difference between Blood 2 and Blood 1 is that Blood 1 has more humor in it and is not so serious but on the other site Blood 2's graphics engine is much better.

This game is about Caleb who wants to take revenge on the end boss. The end boss killed Caleb, but he lives again and he's now up for some action! That's why there are some funny voices in this game like: "The son of a bitch must pay!" And when you have completed the game you hear: "Good. Bad. I'm the guy with the gun".

The graphics are not really good. The weapons are looking okay but when you stand a little bit close to someone or something it gets blocky which could be done much better in late 1997 but the engine used for this game was the same as Duke Nukem 3D's engine which was released about two years before this title. Everything has good shading though, that makes it a good 3D game. The graphics of the weapon effects are very good. When you use your Tesla Cannon (Electric Gun) it looks quite humorous when someone is standing under electricity. The graphics of the enemies are, when you stand some distance of them, quite nice. When you blow some one appart, you can see his body parts everywhere. The general scenery is okay, not bad but not good either. The background is just... not good. The walls, doors and other kinds of scenery are quite good, it doesn't look like the 'count the pixels background'. The scenery is very well designed, it will really give you the impression that you are in a horror movie.

The gameplay is one of the major PROS in the game. Everything goes smoothly. The controls of it are very basic so it's very easy to use, especially when you played other games based on this engine like Shadow Warrior, NAM and Duke Nukem 3D. Blood: Plasma Pack features five episodes, instead of three, the like the original game. Every episode contains many action and lots of maze levels. Every level and episode has its own difficulty level. The end boss levels are quite nice made, you are just in the middle of nowhere and you walk a few steps and suddenly you see your end boss, very scary but very good on the other side. Blood contains ten weapons, every weapon has its own advantages and disadvantages. You can choose from pitchforks to a skulls on a stick. In most games, weapon two is a revolver or some sort, in Blood it's a little bit heavier namely a Flare Gun! When you fire a few flares at your enemy it will fly into flames and runs after you to inflict damage on you either. When he is on fire, it doesn't look very realistic, but it's funny to see. The game itself isn't very hard to complete, only the end bosses are really difficult. All enemies and levels look quite the same but this doesn't make this game boring at all, so when you've some time you can play this game for hours and maybe even days.

Now, on with the sound. One word: Awesome. The background music gives that little extra touch of horror. The voices of the enemies and the innocent people are really nice, and also original. The normal people say stuff like: "There's no place like home" and the enemies are just talking some crap in their own language. The weapon fire is also very realistic, you'll hear it when you hit some scenery with your pitchfork a realistc sound. There are also some great quotes of the character you are playing, Caleb. In the beggining of the game he says: "I live again!".

On the whole this is a great game, especially the audio and the gameplay are superb. When you've finished all episodes you will be able play it again but when you have did it a few times, it gets boring as usual. So, are you up to take some revenge in five episodes and ten weapons of great fun? Then download this game, it is reccomended for any horror fan and really belongs into any classic gaming collection.

The Hands are not quite common in the game. I got spooked once!

Awesome game. flare guns, spray can flamethrowers and even napalm launchers. In my opinion this is the best of the build engine. (Yep. Better then Duke.)

Fun note: There are lots of refences, for example: "Out, out, damned spot!" from Macbeth.

Classic FPS. Yes, if Skyrim is the standard (& in my opinion, it is), the graphics on this are dated, but it is from 1997. That being said, Quake came out in 1996 and it has better graphics. But this is still good. Get it. :)
