This game was developed by Russian programmer Oleg Demin in 1992, while working in Russian company "Gamos".
This is a computer puzzle game, Color Lines, a.k.a. the "office killer", requires the player to allign 5 balls of the same colour vertically, horizontally, or diagonally in any dirrection. After the 5 balls of the same colour are alligned, they snap and disappear while the player is awarded 10 points, which gradually lead him to beating the King ("handicap";), a.k.a. The Big Red Ball (the king is standing on a pillar, high and proud and his score at the very begining is 100). This is all happening on a grey game field 9X9. Balls appear frequently as you try to allign those of the same colour. Each time you make a move, 3 balls appear randomly on the field. However, when 5 balls are aligned, after they disapear, no balls appear on the field.
The player is situated on the other side of the game field on a much lover pillar and is initially called "pretender", a.k.a. The Big Purple Ball. As you advance, your pillar raises slowly and after you've beaten King's record (100) or your previous record, you are awarded a victory tune, king's cape and crown, while he, ashamed and defeated, falls on his but and as you keep climbing, he falls down more and more until he reaches the point of where he cannot go any lower.
Don't be fooled by the simplicity of this game; it requires a lot of brainstorming and thinking and every mistake can end up fatally for you. The king cannot just wait to place a red ball in your path, just to block you from aligning 5 green balls, for example. When reached a high score, it is wise for every player to double think about every move before he makes it and always look at the pannel at the top of the screen which displays next 3 colours of the upcoming balls.
This game is over 15 years old, but still kicks but and is well worth downloading.
Cheers
