Well, I remember when I brought Test Drive 4 at WalMart for the PlayStation. It was on sale, and I needed a better racing game then Ridge Racer Type 4...ugh. Anyway, I got it and popped the disc in. I thought it was the. Best. Racing. Game. Evar. Until I started to notice the unbalances of the game...

Graphics (9/10):
Let´s start with the good. Well, the PC version and the PlayStation version were very similar in terms of graphics. They were quite good for a game back then. The smoke from the cars, the burnout marks and the models of the cars. All were quite well. The other cars that drove around the area were good as well. Also, when your car flips, the graphics are nice.

The cockpit view is also very nice, with each car getting its own model. But if your not viewing in the cockpit, and say, driving from behind the car, then the sun gleams and the paint really stands out. A nice little edition for a street racing game.

The bad parts about the graphics? The buldings, grass, roads and such are kinda crappy. Their not that bad, but their okay.

Also, no damages on the cars. Yes, even if you crash into a wall at 98MPH...

Gameplay (7/10):
Okay, well, you race. Yes, you race. What? This isn´t a first person shooter! Anyway, yes, it´s street racing. You can choose from a middle-sized selection of cars and then drive away. You can also choose a nice variety of levels to race in. A nice level is the downtown of SF. You can drive the car at top speed, and fly off the big road that´s sloped like a hill. Nice effects.

Also, like the other Test Drive games, you should watch out for the cops. If they come near you while your speeding, you have to slow down, then start back up again.

You can choose a few type of game modes. A challenge race, a single race, a cup race and so on. Although all are just...races...hopefully you won´t get to bored of it, but you might...

Oh, the bad thing? Well, it can get boring by just racing. Also, the timing can get to you, since the checkpoints seem farther away from each other. And that darn traffic always gets in the way and makes my car flip!

Audio (8/10):
X Zommer likes the audio! What? No, I´m X Zommer. Yes, the audio is pretty good. The music can get stuck in your head at times. It´s not all that great, but it´s catchy. Also, the car engines sound okay, and so are the crashes and such. I think the sound can improve a little.

Replayabilty (5/10):
Okay, racing. This game isn´t anything spcial in racing terms. You don´t get much and not a lot to choose from. Longest I played this game ever was for about 1 ½ hours. And that´s quite shocking.

Overall (7/10):
Not many glitches in Test Drive 4. But hey, there are better racing games out there, but, I have to say, Test Drive 4 is 1 of the best racing games that is released as an abandonware game. Well, that´s all for now. Cyaz.

The manual has detailed course info. Oh, and by the way: Keswick is in the North of England.

This racer is a mixed bag, but could be good or bad if you know it. 5/10 "mediocre"

Gamespot said it is a not bad continuation, but IGN says Accolade is just getting better with an UK based developer.
