This actually ran pretty nicely back in the day... ONCE you patched it. As-shipped (based upon a defective version of the "beta" Unreal engine), it didn't run on any system I've ever heard of.

Today, it runs just fine, but you need to use the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit to ensure that it's only using one core. It's pretty finnicky. Even then, my current system runs it a bit too fast. This same thing was the case with Unreal (1) though, so that's not surprising.

If you can get it running properly, it's a very fun game, if you're into the TNG-era Klingons in particular. Basically, you see all variety of Trekkian archetypes, but instead of "meeting them and making friends" (as on the show), you're basically killing them if they get in your way.

There are a couple of particularly interesting levels, set on a Bird of Prey and on a D-7 Battlecruiser (on meaning "on board" and also "outside the ship") which I still remember fondly!
