This game start out happy and cartoony, making you think it'll be something easy and quick, not very frusterating. Boy, are you wrong. The entire point of the game is to raise a farm, and perhaps get a wife while you're at it. Sound simple? No, it takes a lot of hard work.

Graphics
About what you'd expect for a SNES game. Cartoony, not that much color depth, but they all match to form a nice farm and town. After heading around a bit you'll notice the same backgrounds used over and over, but it doesn't detract from it much at all. The weather effects look nice, and the different seasons really give you a feel for what time of the year it is.

Sound
The different seasons have their own music, but believe me, it gets boring after a while. The second time spring rolls around, you'll be tempted to pop in a CD to listen to. During rain and all that no music is heard, only the weather. Once again, I'd recommend a CD.

Gameplay
Yay, the fun stuff. At the start you're expected to go around and talk to everybody in the town. It's a small ass town, believe me. You go there to flirt with your girl, buy stuff, and for special events. That's about it. The rest of the time is spent on your farm, working your ass off. It incorperates a day/night system with actual time, though it moves a bit fast. A day in the game passes in about ten minutes. You've got to have your crops or animals to sell in the correct place at the exact time, and with the way your cows and chickens wander about, it's rather hard. You get a dog and a horse to help you with your farm, though. Raising chickens is fun, they lay eggs as long as you feed them, you can leg the eggs hatch into more chickens, or sell the eggs. You can even go egg houses in town with them. Cows need love and affection, you should brush and take them for walks. The funny thing is it's a lot easier to win a girl's affection than a cows. Cows need to be fed, milked, walked, and brushed. Girls? All they need is to be talked to, and go pick them a flower every so often.

Replayability
Plenty to keep up with, but it gets tedious after a while. This game will be fun for fans of Simcity and games like that, but for those preferring action and lots of on-the-spot thinking, this isn't going to be fun.

This Harvest Moon was the best, hands down. Easy to get the hang of, challenging, and extreamly fun.
