Company description


In 1994 Apogee created a new division, 3D Realms Entertainment, with the goal of developing innovative, interactive, immersive and of course fun 3D action games. The first game of 3D Realms was Terminal Velocity after this game 3D Realms developed Duke Nukem 3D, this game contained the character "Duke Nukem" and was based on older Duke Nukem games which where 2D platform games. The engine of Duke Nukem was also used for many other shooters such as NAM, Shadow Warrior and Blood.

3D realms didn't develop Max Payne - only published it as far as I know. Remedy was the developer.
