Still a work in progress, but I don't think it would hurt to show you all some proof that we haven't forgotten this site or its community.

Finally some new downloads

Hello guys,

I just wanted to let you guys know that I've added a bunch of new downloads. All files (except one) are packed in our brand new CGN Installer script. For more information about our updated/new Installer Script please check out the previous newspost.

Click Here to see the list of new files.

Please note: I'm currently repacking a bunch of ISO files, so when an ISO file is not available for download for a few hours or your download crashes then it's my fault.

I don't have any additional information.

Kind regards,

New version of the CGN Installer and new packages will be available within no-time

Dear visitors,

It may have been quiet for awhile but backstage I was working on our Installer's scripts. The Installer has been upgraded to version 2.0.0.3, the earlier version (2.0.0.2) has been relased in June 2006 so it took a long time before it has been updated.

The changes:
- Users are able to install files to a network directory/path
- Users are able to install files to the root of their harddisk and other hardware featuring a driveletter
- Additional shortcuts will be added to user's start-menu (for instance: Battle Chess Help File, Golden Axe Setup)
- Additional shortcuts will...

Please note: None of the packages we have on the site are...

Next to this there are some new ISO files available for download.

Please note: When you have an ISO archive of a certain game that doesn't have an ISO download yet and isn't rated as warez then please send me a PM.
Some of them are currently being uploaded right now so when you get a warning that the file doesn't show up on the server just check it out later today.

Next to this some games are re-packed in a CGN Installer package which makes it much more easy to get them...

A new month and some new games

I'm currently checking out all contributions we have received in 2006, I still have to check about 1900 contributions. So it will take a while before the contribution system is available again. I have added a few new ISO downloads to our database and a few new games as you can see when you scroll down on the main page.

Grades has upgraded our server's software and solved some bugs here and there in our database.

Next to the contribution part I'm also...

The DOSBox crew has released a new version of their DOS emulator, it's version 0.71. DOSBox 0.71 is available for download in our application selection. This version features even better compatibility concerning running good old DOS games.

Soon we will finally release our DOSBox guide, all [CGN] packed DOS packages already feature a link to the page where the guide will be available.

For the rest I've updated the Application selection...

Finally some new games

As you can see some new games are available. I'm currently checking out all contributions, we are talking about 3200+ contributions. I have removed a lot of contributions (double entries, incorrect, incomplete, etc.) but of course I have also accepted a lot of stuff. For instance over 75 new screenshots, ten cheat documents, five manuals, and so on are available by now.

Standard allowed download size upgraded from 50MB to 75MB.

Because the submission system is currently disabled I've decided to upgrade the allowed download size from 50MB to 75MB. So from now on everyone is able to download files upto 75MB (for larger files you'll need a premium account or points).

When this doesn't cause any problems I'll even upgrade it to...

Possible downtimes due server and site maintainence

Oh no... what the ????, yes it's me. I'm still alive and I'm working on the CGN site again.

For a long time you guys didn't hear anything from me. But at last I've decided to pick up this project again. From now on I will also reply contact messages and emails concerning this website.

First of all I will start cleaning up the site and when I'm done I will finally add some new content to the huge...

DNS Problems Solved

We have regained control over all our domain names just now. Only classic-gaming.net, our main name, is still being transferred, but that should clear within the next 4 days.

I will be giving our server a very decent spring cleanup either Saturday, Sunday or Monday, so expect some minor downtimes this week-end.

By the way, Res and I are both eager to continue working on CGN, but you have to understand that even the maintenance of a site like this already requires a lot of dedication and time. Rebuilding the site from scratch while keeping an eye on the current version is not an easy task, and both Res and me no longer have the same amount spare time we once had.
