Many of people will have some kind of motor racing game in their collection. Well, this one really belongs to that category, even the name of the game is related with the motorbikes. The graphics of Moto Racer are nice, well if you set it on the highest quality of detail. If you set the detail level lower than `highest quality´, the graphics already look really bad. When you run the game on the highest quality available it will really give you the feeling that you´re riding around in a realistic environment. The scenery of the rocks and the trees are nicely done. But like most games of this year, when you get too close to a scenery object, it gets blurred up. The bikes and drivers look very realistic, you´ll immediately recognize it so I think you can say the developers did they job very well. When you drive fast, you can see the road going really fast, just like in the real life. When you slip, you also see some dust or snow floating up.

The gameplay of this game is very nice. The controls are easy to use and easy to learn. When you drive at a high speed onto a wall, you'll fly off the bike, this also happens when you press the Space Bar so you get on your bike's back wheel, this will give you a sort of speed boost. The practice races against a few opponents aren´t very difficult in the beginning but you need to drive at top speed to come from position sixteenth to the first position before the race ends. When you practice this isn't hard which makes the game quite easy.

The races are also very different from each other and every track looks completely different than the other one. There are two bikes but you can't choose between them because it´s just what the track requires, when it requires a regular bike you can only choose that kind of bike. The one for the rough area, the sports bike, can't go very fast but it's good to use for indoor racing on sand hills and stuff like that. The regular bike is really for high speeds. You can also make nice stunts on the ground and in the air. On the ground you can drive on your back wheel and in the air you can put you both legs out of the motor and make a cool stunt. This is only for the show tough because there is no point system in the game. Maybe the only weak point of this game is that you have to drive in a few seconds from checkpoint to check point. When you don't make it, you are out. This is only for driving against opponents tough.

The sound is also nicely done. When you are in the starting line and give a little bit of gas, you hear the engine and it sounds very realistic. Also when you shift your acceleration, you hear a very realistic so. In the option menu you also hear a voice when you select an option. So the sound engine seems to be good and original.

So, in a nutshell, this game doesn't have many weak points. It has a fun gameplay, some really nice graphics and you won't get bored very soon. However, this isn´t a real game to recommend to play for hours and hours. This game really belongs in the classic list for driving titles and is worth a try!

The game runs too fast in my PC. Anybody knows the solution?

This game will run fine on any modern system I've tried (unlike its sequels, which are marred, to one extent or another, by defective "copy protection" schemes). I own the original, and I still enjoy it more than most other "driving games" I have.

You should download the full ISO disk and do a real install, though... the "download full game" isn't going to do the trick, I'm afraid. If you do that, you can install the D3D/Voodoo patch. I recommend combining the Voodoo mode with Zeckensach's GLide wrapper... they seem to work nicely together.

hey! i downloaded the game from about 10 different sources and i could make them all to start up by setting the color to 16-bit, but while in the menu it's all fuzzy and pixeled, i really can't see a thing, and i also couldn't apply the v3.22 patch. it says "game not installed, you must install the game before the update." any idea? please help. thx in advance!

If any of you have problems with the in-game colours, try to open rask manager after you have started the game. Then end explorer.exe and then just ALT+TAB back into the game. Works for nearly all old games being run in vista or win7.
