GTA is a classic game, and anyone who has not bathed in its warming glow is, without a doubt, most unfortunate. Of course, it tends to only be unknown to anyone living under a rock for the last 7 years. Despite being overly violent and very un-PC, it still has millions of fans around the world, with a wide range of ages.

Graphics:
The graphics still look quite good, even by today's standards. Despite not being particularly spectactular, they do the job nicely. There are some weak sprites, such as the explosions, which sort of ruin the atmosphere, but otherwise the models and effects look very nice.

Sound:
The sounds in this game are very... appropriate. Especially the somewhat explicit insults the "innocent bystanders" scream (generally just before they're shot/run over) at you! Besides that, there are the well presented engine noises (includes the engine dying), gun shots, and explosions. But, like everything, the sounds have their flaws... the voice is pathetic, but in some cases, only adds to the humour of the game!

Gameplay:
The gameplay is great- a fun game mixed with elements of humour, denied perfection by a prehistoric control system. As for the hinderence, it is possible to get used to the control system, therefore raising the fun factor ever-so-slightly! Otherwise, the bank robberies, hi-jackings, murders, and, of course, carjackings, are always fun- burning cops is pretty cool too!

Lifespan:
This game just won't die! Three huge cities, cars a-plenty, a plethorea of missions and secrets, and a few useful weapons all add to the virtually never-ending lifespan. With two chapters per city, aproximately 10 missions in a chapter, and half a dozen secrets, you can go back to this game over and over and do something new every time...

Overall, a huge game combining driving, action, and illegal activity make this game a huge hit. Congratulations Rockstar/DMA, for a sucessful start to a bestselling series...
