Background:
The game was published in 1994 by Disney Software and developed by Virgin. It was released as an official "Lion King" the movie franchise. It had some awesome graphics for the time, and was simultaneously published for PC (DOS), SNES and Sega Genesis. Even though it was a popular game at the time, it didn't provide any innovations, as the classic 2D adventures already proved themselves.

General Information:
The game consists of 10 levels, each following the story of "Lion King" the movie. It basically chronicles Simba's adventures while he grows up in his fathers kingdom. It gradually goes from very joyful and fun kid's game to a darker and more serious adventure. Simba slowly matures and after level 5, becomes a grown lion.

Sound:
The game features some nice transcriptions of the official soundtrack from the movie. There are voices included and short cut-scenes between the levels.

Graphics:
The game has some really neat graphics for its time. Considering that it was 1994, this game isn't fully 2D. It features some 3D elements, like in the level when Simba tries to escape the trap. The colours are bright and very well fit the mood. The animation is above the average and characters look natural.

Bonus Levels:
By collecting a certain bug in some levels of the game you are allowed to play the Bonus Level after it. These bugs are bigger than the others and are Blue. In Bonus rounds, you will try to collect bugs, and as many as possible. You will be awarded extra lives for that.

Tips:
- At the beginning of the game you are asked to enter a code from the booklet. Instead type DWARF
- Do the same thing on the main menu
- This will allow you to add health to you health bar when you are damaged ( by hitting the "H" key) or simply beat levels by hitting the "L" key.
- In Bonus level after the first level, Timon will throw bugs in Pumba's mouth. Don't eat the Black Spiders or you loose. When you are sure you cannot get all the bugs, hit ENTER and Pumba will burp causing all the bugs to disappear. You can only use this once, so use it wisely.

The full game download has been replaced. Now the game should work like a charm when using Windows XP, Vista and 7.

When you experience any difficulties concerning running the game please send me a message by clicking my username. Thanks in advance.

Have fun!
