Snowmobile racing allows you to race through Yellowstone Park, slide on the ice of a Minnesota lake, jump through the mud of an Iowa farm, and skid around the hairpin turns of the a Maine forest. You are allowed to choose from your arsenal of five speedy snowmobiles and select from three difficulty levels. This may sound exciting to some, but sadly, this is pretty much all that this game has to offer. You can do is continue to race and improve your score. There are no tracks that you can unlock in this game. The only objects that you can unlock are the Artic Cat Sno-Pro and an ATV.

Graphics:
The snow that blows towards the camera causes it to feel much more realistic, especially when you go through the mud on the Iowa farm and the snow that blows up has mud in it. It is also a major plus to be able to turn on Direct3D so you can smooth out the pixels. Without it, I would have given the graphics a much low score. The sky and mountains add a nice touch to this game. It allows for beauty in a limited world of low-poly models.

Sound/Music:
The sound is good; it has the necessary snowmobile sounds, but music? What music? There is absolutely no music in the races at all, making the gameplay boring after about the third course. There isn't even any music in the menu screen.

Gameplay:
The gameplay in this game is like that of pretty much any racing game. You just race around and hope that you cut the corners close enough to be able to win. For it's time though, this does have pretty good physics, even though you aren't able to flip over or really bounce around. As far as difficulty goes, this game is way too easy, even on the expert difficulty setting. Once you beat the game a few times, you will probably get bored of this game, but at least give this one a shot because it still does have some great qualities.

Fun Factor:
Most people really enjoy having unexpected difficulties to the race like a tree falling, having to escape an avalanche, or try to go fast enough to get across the breaking ice. Although what I will give it is that it is actually very entertaining being able to slide around on the ice because it seems very realistic and allows for a little extra challenge. I was hoping that there would be a chance to go over the hay bails so you could explore, but there is that annoying invisible fence.

Idea:
It is actually a unique idea for the period in time that this was created, because was still a new and fairly unexplored type of racing. Most of the other games were involving cars and caused too much competition between gaming companies because there are always car racing games coming out, and they just get progressively better. Instead though, Second South Industries developed this snowmobile game and gave an honest effort, so for that I will award the idea with a nine out of ten.
