Westwood was founded by Brett Sperry and Louis Castle in 1985. Westwood was one of the most successful game studios in the history of the computer. In 1992 Westwood merged with Virgin Interactive Entertainment. 1992 was the year that Westwood completed two great classics namely Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty and The Legend Of Kyrandia I. In 1995 Westwood launched its first game in the Command & Conquer series, Command & Conquer was the name of the game in question. After the first C&C game many other C&C real-time strategy games came on the market like C&C: Red Alert, C&C Red Alert 2 and C&C Tiberian Sun. As far as I know Westwood is currently a part of EA which stopped using the Westwood brand... so I can't tell you if Westwood is out of business or not, we will know it in the near future.

By Nesianstyles - Jan 13 2006 - 09:18 Westwood is out of business... Atleast, EA no longer have the members, as most of them have left... EA will still be developing C&C games, as far as I know, but it is taking them years and all that they have done recently is released a package containing all of the C&C games, which for any C&C fan is no use... I wish they would do the next Tiberian game, the last one was released many years ago... but from what I have heard they are doing Red Alert 3 or Generals 2. And for the record, C&C Generals was developed by Westwood (marked as EA Pacific) before most of the members have left.
